About Westerfield North Townhouses
Westerfield North Townhouses, Inc. is a housing cooperative corporation formed in 1970. We are governed by a Board of Directors and made up of 100 families who enjoy the benefits of cooperative living. We are located in northwest Olathe, east of Highway 7 and south of Harold (127th street). Easy access to Highways 7 & 10, I-435 and I-35.
The Westerfield North complex consists of sixty two-bedroom townhouses and forty three-bedroom townhouses. The three bedroom units offer a bath and a half. All have walk-out kitchen patio doors, a full basement with washer and dryer hookup, central air and heat, furnished appliances, cable hookup in the living room and, unlike apartment living, each townhouse has designated individual yard space. You are welcome to tend a small flower garden or plant a small vegetable garden in back!
Many of our townhouses have beautiful oak hardwood floors! Recent renovations include new countertops, sinks, disposals, vinyl flooring, vanity cabinets and sinks in the upper baths, storm doors, entry doors and patio doors. Also new energy efficient furnaces. Some units may have carpeting if a prior tenant has had it installed. Some have six-foot privacy fences or rooms built in the basement. If the townhouse you select does not have carpeting or a fence, you can easily change that!
Many tenants make improvements to their townhomes. You are free to paint, install carpeting, and decorate your townhome to your own individual taste. Some members choose to install ceiling fans, privacy fences, shelving, shower doors or do some landscaping around their yards. After obtaining a permit for alterations or improvements, with some limitations, you are able to make your townhome your castle!
Our townhouses are spacious and well laid out. Dining areas are provided in the large kitchens. Bedrooms offer large closets. The full basements provide plenty of storage area. Please see our floor plans for more specific layouts of each size of townhouse.
Our rental rates are low! Only $602.00 for a two bedroom and $624.00 for a three bedroom. You won't find low rental rates like these any where else in Johnson County! Comparison shop the rental market and you will see what we mean. Markets rents continue to rise, while we strive to keep our rents affordable.
Many members have continued to live here for quite a number of years, enjoying the benefits and freedom of cooperative living compared to the rising housing costs in Johnson County and the inflexibility and de-personalization of apartment living.
Our maintenance staff provides a quick response to work orders, snow removal, lawn and shrub care, and general upkeep of the property. The cooperative maintains all appliances and fixtures in the townhouses at no charge to the resident. This includes the repair or replacement of the furnace, air conditioner, hot water tank, garbage disposal, faucets, etc.
We welcome pets! ~ with a limit of two pets per townhouse. All must be indoor pets. Please see the size limit for dogs.
Directions for I-35
Take the Santa Fe exit #218, keep right at the fork in the ramp, continue west on Santa Fe for approximately 2 miles, turn right onto Iowa Street. Continue about 8 blocks, then turn left (west) onto Forest Drive, and then right onto Clinton. The office is the second entrance.
